Every other Thursday, Healthy Kids Community Challenge Danforth-East York joins up with FoodShare, Toronto Public Health & the TTC for the Grab Some Good pop up market! The market is located at Victoria Park Subway Station from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.
In many Toronto neighbourhoods, accessing fresh fruits and vegetables can be a challenge, so making healthy food choices easy, accessible and affordable is key. Healthy Kids is on site to engage with kids & families about the importance of eating more fruits & veggies. It is recommended that kids eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, but most kids are not meeting this goal. By introducing these foods early on and involving kids in the shopping & cooking process, kids will be more likely to eat the daily recommended servings.
Grab Some Good brings affordable, fresh produce right to a busy subway station, making it easier for people to choose the healthier option on their way home! So join us next Thursday, and pick up a bag full of fresh fruits & veggies!
